Ever feel like there is something greater “out there?” Like you’re “functioning” in your body doing all that is required to “make it happen,” but feeling like there’s something greater? There is (period). Wonder how I know? Well, you’re experiencing that which is “greater” in my life! Welcome to “The Dream Studio” blog!
For more years than I can count, I felt “trapped,” in situations doing what I was “good at” and what was “expected” but not necessarily that which aligned with my purpose. I followed the traditional academic path, turned into a “corporate monster” with the company car and corporate credit card, obtained accolades from professional organizations, and started my own business. Along the way I was interrupted by a discussion with my life coach (yes, every great coach has a coach) about purpose.
Jesus while in the Garden of Gethsemane agonized in prayer to the Father about the crucifixion that lay ahead. Instead of asking the Father to remove Him from that situation, His prayer was simply that the Father be glorified. Jesus understood for “this purpose [He] came to this hour.” I asked myself, “For what purpose have I come to this hour?” I could NOT answer! I could NOT identify that, which in my moment of truth would cause me to look at what lay ahead, and despite the difficulty respond in my heart say, nevertheless for “this purpose I came to this hour.” That was a hard truth for me to accept! How could it be that I was able to “do” and “acquire” all that I had and still not be able to identify my purpose?
Simply, I did not consult my “manufacturers’ handbook.” I would independently chart my course and brainstorm my options and plans, but it is God’s purpose that prevails, and not that of my own. I kept wondering why I was “accomplished” yet “unfulfilled.” “Decorated” yet “exposed.” I was “outwardly celebrated” yet “inwardly desolate.” All fruit of pursuing “my” purpose! I was looking for the “all things” and the “good” due to those that are called according to His purpose, while doing “my own thing!”
My journey to determining the “purpose I came to this hour” was just as much a look back, as it was a look forward. God had been speaking through different experiences, situations, relationships, open doors, and closed doors all my life. I just didn’t have eyes to see, or an ear to hear! He knew that all that I experienced would qualify me to say this… My “purpose in coming to this hour” is to help others answer this question! He has a plan, tailor made for you. It is unique. There is no one else in the world that can fulfill it. His plan is not bound by your mistakes or inadequacies. This is the moment when destiny has called you. Yes, you!
My blog is about taking that journey together! We will discuss a range of topics including the walk of a Believer, successful living strategies, relationships, health and fitness, finances, and just plain “real” talk. This blog is about you having the tools to begin your own journey towards understanding the “purpose you came to this hour.” I’m honored to be on this journey with you… as you “create a life without limits!”
